What is numerology?

Numerology is a practice that assigns numeric values to letters allowing us to gain insight into a person’s life, discovering one’s inner self and analyzing one’s character.


Each number has a specific meaning and numbers have the potential to predict the future in our lives including money, career, romance and social life.


What is the history of numerology?

Many people have contributed to the art and study of numerology, including Pythagoras, Pluto and Nikola Tesla, among others.


The system that is most common today is based on the findings of Pythagoras. As an astronomer, philosopher and mathematician, Pythagoras believed numbers ruled the universe and he thought that everything can be expressed through numbers.


How is numerology used?

By looking at one’s name or birthdate, we can get a better understanding of that person’s destiny, personality and character traits.


In numerology, each number has its own meaning and its own character, some numbers are considered more powerful than others. Numerology can be used to determine various aspects of one’s life.


What is the Life Path Number?

The life path number determines the lessons that a person has been sent here to learn. The life path represents who you are at your core. It carries positive and negative traits and is an indicator of what is important to you. How you act and react and how you process life determines how your life path manifests. The choices and consequences you face will guide you to your next decision. Each experience is a lesson in becoming your highest most authentic self. The life path number does not change and follows you through the entirety of your life.


To calculate your life path number you add up the numbers of your birthdate and reduce them to a single digit.


There are 3 Master Life Path numbers that are double digits, these are the only numbers that should not be reduced to a single digit, they are 11, 22 and 33.


Let’s look at some examples of calculating the Life Path Number.


If your birthdate is August 10, 1983 you add up the following:

8+1+0+1+9+8+3 = 30, since 30 is a two digit number you reduce it to a single digit


3+0 = 3

This person’s life path number is 3


If your birthdate is September 12, 2013 you add up the following:

9+1+2+2+0+1+3 = 18

1+8 = 9, since 9 is a single digit you do not reduce it any further


This person’s life path number is 9


If your birthdate is December 3, 1960 you add up the following:


1+2+3+1+9+6+0 = 22


Since 22 is a Master Life Path number you do not reduce it any further


This person’s life path number is 22
